Phi Sigma Sigma Collegian Enters Chapter Eternal

ELKRIDGE, MD. – Phi Sigma Sigma offers our deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Ariel Black, a collegeiate sister from the Theta Iota Chapter at the University of Michigan - Flint. Ariel passed away in a tragic car accident on the morning of Oct. 12.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who knew and loved Ariel,” said Grand Archon Alicia Scott. “The entire sorority is deeply affected by news of this terrible loss."

Ariel was initiated into the Theta Iota Chapter in November 2009. She was a senior at the University of Michigan - Flint and was studying early childhood education. Ariel had a love for children and community involvement.

She is described as a kind-hearted young woman who truly represents the ideals and values of Phi Sigma Sigma.

"Ariel was not only a beloved sister but a dear friend, and we are all better people for having known her. We will remember her sense of humor, smile and the endless love she had for all who crossed her path," said Chapter President Rebecca Flaig.

Ariel is survived by her parents Kimberly Adkins and Glenn Black, nine siblings, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

A candlelight vigil was held last week for Ariel at the Kappa Sigma Fraternity house. Visitation for Ariel was held yesterday at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home in Clarkston, MI. The funeral service was held early this morning at The River Church in Holly, MI. Notes of condolence can be sent to the chapter at Phi Sigma Sigma, 303 E Kearsley Street, 375 University Center, Flint, MI 48502.
