Whether supported through a pledge, an outright gift or a planned gift, all of the programs offered through the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation are sustained through the generosity and commitment of our donors. A gift to the Foundation assures the continuation of the services we offer, helping to fulfill the dreams of Phi Sigma Sigma sisters for generations to come and helping those with kidney disease and their families.  Gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible, as allowable by the IRS.

Outright Gifts

An outright gift is received by the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation immediately and affords us the opportunity to utilize the funds without delay. We accept donations by check, cash or credit card. Please click here to make your gift by credit card or send your check made payable to:

Matching Gifts

Many companies provide matching gift funds as an employee benefit and to recognize the efforts of qualified charitable organizations. Ask your company if they provide matching gifts to 501(c) 3 charitable organizations. Send your company’s form to us, along with your donation and we will complete our portion, and return it to your company.

Stock Gifts

Owners of appreciated assets can transfer them directly to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation and obtain substantial tax benefits.

Gifts of Real Estate

With this gift option you transfer ownership of property to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation but retain the right to use the property for life. You receive a charitable income tax deduction for the value of the Foundation’s interest in the property in the year the transfer takes place.

The Society of the Sphinx - the Foundation’s Planned Giving Program

The Society of the Sphinx has been established to recognize Phi Sigma Sigmas and friends who include the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation in their planned giving programs. Membership recognizes the foresight and generosity of those who choose to embrace the positive impact that Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation has on young women.

Individuals are eligible for membership with a minimum contribution of $1,000. Members of the society are not only rewarded with tax advantages, but with the gratification of knowing that their gift helps to implement the educational, leadership development, and relationship opportunities that our sisters have shared for nearly 100 years. Options for joining the Society include:

Bequests: A bequest is a gift made in a will or living trust that names Phi Sigma Sigma as a beneficiary. Bequests can be made in the form of a specific gift of cash or property, or even a percentage of the remainder of an estate or trust. When updating an existing will and wishing to include the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation as a charitable beneficiary, your attorney can assist in adding a codicil or addendum to the existing will. Please consult your attorney and financial advisor for the precise legal wording required in your state, but you may consider using language similar to the following:

I hereby give, devise, and bequest to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation the sum of $____ (insert specific amount, percentage, or description of specific gift made). This bequest is unrestricted and to be used for the general purposes of the Foundation as the Board of Directors of the Foundation may direct.

Gifts of Life Insurance: Some of our donors no longer need the life insurance they purchased years ago to provide for children or other family members and name the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation as beneficiary on the policy.

Charitable Lead Trust: Individuals with large estates can use a charitable lead trust to benefit the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation and pass the principal to family members with little or no tax penalty.

Gifts of Retirement Plans: Your IRA assets can be transferred to a charitable remainder trust which provides income to the beneficiary, and then eventually to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation.
