Ariel Weaver (Gamma Gamma - Clarion University of Pennsylvania
Phi Sigma Sigma collegian and chapter leader Ariel Weaver has been honored as a "Greek Leader of Distinction" at the recent Northeast Greek Leadership Association Conference in Hartford, Conn. - one of 10 students earning the prestigious regional award.

Weaver - a senior who is majoring in mass media arts, journalism and communications studies - has served as her chapter's archon and Panhellenic Council vice president of recruitment and public relations.

"I originally joined Phi Sigma Sigma for the social aspects and to make friends," Weaver said. "It has become so much more - and has provided me with so many opportunities I never thought I would have."

"Ariel faced her fair share of adversity as Gamma Gamma chapter president and persevered," said Shawn Hoke, assistant director of campus life at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. "She brought principle-centered leadership to the sorority community as a Panhellenic Council officer. She truly is a Greek leader of distinction."

Weaver plans to begin her graduate studies on student affairs in higher education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania this fall.
